How to get an appointment slot

ATTENTION: DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND IN THE PEAK SEASON WAITING TIMES TO OBTAIN AN APPOINTMENT FOR TOURIST TRAVEL CAN CURRENTLY GO UP TO 4 WEEKS. PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT WHEN PLANNING YOUR TRIP.

All appointments need to be booked via the website of VFS Global. They are available on a first come first serve basis. The Embassy and VFS do not interfere with the online booking system.

Our resources are fully dedicated to processing scheduled appointments, and we cannot offer additional slots outside of the appointment system.

If you are travelling for business and you have an invitation from the company or institution you are visiting in Belgium, make sure to select “business” as your main travel purpose. There are readily available business appointment slots both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Please note:

• Applications can be submitted as early as six months before your intended travel date.
• The standard processing time is a minimum of two weeks. However, for certain nationalities, an additional Schengen-wide security check is required, which may extend the processing time by another two weeks.
• Appointment slots are made available every three months, with additional slots released during the course of each month. 

We strongly recommend checking the appointment system regularly to secure a slot. Slots may also open due to cancellations.
