Respond immediately

• Call DOCSTOP as soon as possible on the free number 00-800 2123 2123 or 00132 2 518 2123 (with charge).
• Report the loss or theft to the local police to receive a police attestation of loss/theft.
   

In Dubai

Go to the nearest police station or report it online via the website of Dubai Police.

It can take up to three working days to receive the police attestation of loss/theft.
 

In Abu Dhabi

Go to the nearest police station or report online via TAMM – Abu Dhabi Government Services – Police Services. As a tourist you will need to create a UAE Pass account first.

It can take up to three working days to receive the police attestation of loss/theft.
 

Request a new passport at the Embassy

Are you a resident of the UAE, registered in the consular population register?

1. Make sure you prepare the following documents to be handed over to the Embassy:
   • the police report of loss or theft from the local police;
   • the form for reporting loss or theft of passport.
2. If you had requested that your biometric information be kept during your last application, please send us an email to enquire about getting a duplicate passport.
3. If not, you will have to schedule an online appointment and follow the steps for a normal passport application procedure.
4. After receiving your passport, you will have to contact the authorities to renew your residence permit based on this new passport, since the other passport will be declared as lost/stolen in their system.

Are you a tourist in the UAE?

The Embassy can issue a temporary passport to be used to travel back to Belgium, where you can request a new regular passport at your commune.

1. Contact us via e-mail or phone to review your situation. The Embassy will give you an appointment.
2. Bring the following documents to your appointment:
   • your original loss or theft report from the local police;
   • proof of your identity: identity card or another recent official document with photo;
   • the application form for temporary passport;
   • the application form for reporting loss or theft of passport;
   • two passport photos (3.5cm x 4.5cm, white uniform background, neutral facial expression, closed mouth).
